Ban Tai and Ban Khai are situated below the mountain to Haad Rin and have a nice
long sandy beach which is very popular with families with children and kite
boarders because of the shoal water. Worth the visit as well is the Thai market
next to the Seven Eleven where you can find cheap traditional Thai food.
The area around Thong Sala and Ban Tai has many bars equipped with snooker and
pool tables. At Ban Thai once a month the Black Moon Party takes place on the
beach, the jungle of Ban Tai is twice a month the location for the Half Moon
Party. At these two parties the priority is given to both progressive and trance
music.
The public buildings in Thong Sala are banks, post office, police office,
hospital, travel agencies, telephone and fax facilities and pharmacies.
The bungalows in the area of Koh Phangan have usually special booking conditions
in the Full Moon season. Here you can book simple standard bungalows with fan or
accommodations including air conditioning.
